Elopements and micro-weddings are increasing in popularity all over the world right now. But what does it mean to elope and how does an elopement work in the UK.

Elopement Definition
An elopement or micro-wedding is an intimate event where the focus is on the couples’ experience rather than the guest experience. They can be just for the couple alone or for a small group of close friends and family. I serve clients who want to get married in the UK with either an intimate church or civil service and a day’s experience crafted around the couples’ interests and the countryside.

An Elopement Experience Example
Your day could start with a sunrise walk followed by a beautiful breakfast together. How about writing your vows together while relaxing with a glass of champagne in an outdoor hot tub? Have your hair and makeup done and get dressed for your ceremony. Have an intimate first look where you get to see each other for the first time in your wedding clothes. Take some time just to enjoy the moment. Head to your ceremony in the local chapel or registry office. Your afternoon could be spent however you wish depending on how adventurous you want to be. How about horse riding or maybe wild swimming? Then take a break before heading to your chosen location for your sunset vows. Once night falls you could head to a cosy pub for a meal or settle in around the bonfire to toast some marshmallows. Whatever you choose the point is that it will be 100% about you. It’s your opportunity to create the most amazing memories that will be with you forever.
