Wales Wedding Photography – Henllan

Alex and Simon had the most lovely laid back wedding at their local church and then celebrated in a marquee on the lawn at her parents’ house. Surrounded by beautiful Welsh countryside and all their nearest and dearest it was a wonderfully natural day.

I arrived at the farmhouse to lots of hustle and bustle. Alex’s Dad was making good the gateway into the car park and repairing walkways that had got completely sodden in the recent rain. Meanwhile, Alex and her maids were at a bit of a loss as the makeup lady hadn’t turned up! Thankfully Elizabeth who was doing hair stepped up and also did makeup for all the girls. What a star! Alex thankfully was super calm about all of this and clearly passes on her attitude to her little boy who was an absolute angel all day.

St. Sadwrns Church, Henllan

I caught up with the boys at the beautiful hilltop church in Henllan. With its separate bell tower and stunning views, it really is a gorgeous place to get married. The ceremony was traditional and beautifully accompanied by Nerys Hewitt on the harp. The weather on this day after weeks of rain turned out perfectly and we had plenty of time for photographs at the church before heading back to the farm for a wonderful marquee reception.

A Marquee Reception at Home

Alex and her family had worked super hard and the marquee looked wonderful decorated with birdcage centrepieces, lanterns and string lights. The rustic silver birch cake was a work of art and the crepe bar for dessert went down a treat. The party carried on effortlessly into the evening with a fabulous band and photo booth. It was a lovely homely, laid back celebration that suited this couple exactly. I wish them and their families all the best for a fantastic future!

It was wonderful to work with these great suppliers on this wedding:
