This summer I had the absolute pleasure of being a Soughton Hall wedding photographer for the day. Soughton Hall is an amazing country house venue on the border of Cheshire and North Wales. On this occasion, I was second shooting for the ever so lovely Melissa of Elsie Loves Photography.

Soughton Hall Wedding Venue

Soughton Hall takes your breath away as soon as you approach down the sweeping lime avenue driveway. This stunning Georgian country house has been in the Wynne Banks family for over 200 years. As such it still feels like a cherished country home albeit a very grand one! Set in 10 acres of formal gardens and parkland it has endless possibilities for photographs and is perfect for summer weddings. It’s also an exclusive use venue which means you really can have your own private stately home for the day. You and your guests can stay the night in the beautiful bedrooms after celebrating all day in the house and gardens.

On this occasion, Leanne and Jack had an outdoor ceremony in the walled garden followed by a drinks reception on the front lawn and then a wedding breakfast in the marquee. The whole day had an elegant Parisienne theme with blush pink and a touch of pale blue for the boys. I met up with Jack and his groomsmen in the gatehouse cottage as he prepared to head up to the house. Check out his cufflinks, couldn’t be anything else for a plumber right?!

Jackson, the dog was the star of the show. He had a wonderful day. He joined in with the ceremony and got in on the photos with his Mum and Dad. I think his favourite part was the drinks reception though. Here he got to run around and greet all the guests and generally have a wonderful time.
