Early in June, I had the pleasure of visiting Parkgate Farm Tipi Wedding Venue in Stockport for a wonderful wedding shoot. This was a collaboration with some wonderful suppliers. Happily, it was a chance to come together and create something inspiring. This is so important after the year that the wedding industry would rather forget! The shoot had a real luxurious boho theme which worked perfectly with the woodland tipi setting. Take a look at the beautiful styling by Zaz Events. I need those gold-rimmed wine glasses!
Set on 15 acres of farmland in a secluded location you can find Parkgate Farm Tipi Wedding Venue. It’s on the Hazel Grove – Higher Poynton border. Just south of Stockport this is easily accessible from Manchester. However, the location is very private, naturally hidden in a wooded valley. It’s a flexible space with a large double tipi and bar area. In addition, there is plenty of room to spill out onto lawned areas and follow the paths into the woodland. Also, set slightly further away in a woodland clearing is the Bower. This covered pergola area can be used for outdoor ceremonies. For our shoot, it was expertly flowered by Fiore Dorato Flowers and looked incredible. We also had a surprise real-life engagement! Scroll down to see more.
A Boho Tipi Wedding Shoot
Our couple for the shoot were amazing to work with. They really got into the relaxed, cozy feel of this shoot. Priya wore an incredible dress from The Bridal Suite in Cheshire. It featured a strappy detailed bodice to suit the summer feel and a long tulle skirt. Then it was beautifully complemented by the lace boots from The House of Elliot. Available in long or short styles these boots are totally dreamy. (Details like this have me dreaming of getting married again!) The flowers are given a relaxed wild feel by adding some grasses and wildflowers to the warm coloured roses. Steven wore a brown tweed-colored suit to add to the relaxed vibe.
A Woodland Fairy Bride
Our single model was given an ethereal fairy princess look. Therefore, her makeup was done in pinky hues which really suited Ysa’s skin tones. I loved her softly curled hair and magnificent golden crown. Both the girls’ headdresses were stunning and the gold really added to the luxury feel. The leafy gold crowns are decadent and yet have a natural feel. Furthermore, Ysa’s bouquet was a little more structured to go with her embroidered dress. Later on, Parkgate Farm even brought along the most beautiful black pony which added a magical feel to our woodland shoot.
A Parkgate Farm Engagement
Lastly, we had this real-life couple who surprised us with a real-life engagement at the end of the shoot! After getting dressed up the boys spent the day looking completely loved up. Richard quite sensibly decided to take advantage of the beautiful location and presence of photographers! He got down on one knee at the outdoor ceremony location at Parkgate Farm and presented Dan with a ring. We were all a bit teary-eyed but managed to get some shots of the moment. Then we celebrated with confetti. Above all, it was a superb end to a fantastic day.
If you’re looking for a flexible summer wedding venue Parkgate Farm could be just the place. This is a lovely family-run wedding venue and they are able to help you arrange the celebration of your dreams. They currently have two giant hat-tipis. Also, they are able to provide firepits and campfires which are hugely popular. With beautiful farmland, sheep running through the woods, and even a pony this was an incredible venue for a shoot. I can see some amazing boho weddings happening here in the future. As you can see, there are endless options for photography. Due to the combination of open space and woodland, some perfect light can always be found. In addition, an abundance of fairy lights in the tipis gives it a warm festival feel and adds to that boho look.
