My Favourite Small Cheshire Wedding Venues

It looks like we’re slowly heading back towards bigger weddings which is fantastic news. I’m so glad that couples will soon be able to have the weddings they’ve dreamed of. I have to say though that I’ve been really enjoying these more intimate celebrations. Mainly I think because it seems to make for a more relaxing day. There seems to be so much more time for couples to really spend with each of their guests rather than a quick few words then onto the next table. Maybe it’s because my brides and grooms themselves have been more relaxed with only their nearest and dearest present. Whatever the reason these smaller weddings have been some of my favorites. So, I thought I’d share a few options for cosy venues in Cheshire if you’re thinking of sticking with a more intimate wedding.

The Yellow Broom

The Yellow Broom restaurant is a fabulous venue for smaller weddings. With three separate areas that can be used in different ways this restaurant never feels empty. It has a beautiful small garden and patio with heaters so guests can spill outside and relax on the terrace. Recently they have been specializing in weekday and evening weddings. I love the wisteria-covered building in early summer and the fabulous food. See a full Yellow broom wedding here.

The Roebuck Inn, Mobberley

The Roebuck Inn is a quirky little pub perfect for a small wedding. They have a small marquee on the terrace outside for the ceremony and then you can squeeze into the pub for a cozy family meal. It also has some beautiful guest rooms so you can get ready in style and stay the night too. I love the doves in the garden and the potting shed details. Take a look at this lovely Roebuck wedding.

Hartford Golf Club

Room One at Hartford can actually host quite a big gathering but the main room can be arranged to make the space smaller and more intimate. It has a wonderful space for outdoor ceremonies too I just adore the way the sun sets across the golf course too. The food here has always been amazing and they are lovely people to work with. Just add fairy lights and lots of flowers! See more from Hartford Golf Club here.

Buddileigh Farm

Again a flexible venue that can host a larger gathering too. This farm is the home of Malibu marquees and so they can offer a range of setups to suit each individual occasion. There is a lovely outdoor bar and fire pit area along with beautiful gardens. They also have a great outdoor ceremony area by a small lake and a small indoor ceremony room as well. The beautifully decorated barns are available to rent overnight so you can stay the night too. Take a look at this fabulous Buddileigh Farm wedding.

There are of course lots of venues that are able to host larger weddings as well as smaller affairs. I chose these as my favourites for their smaller spaces that don’t seem like big empty spaces when catering to smaller groups. Maybe you were always thinking of a small intimate wedding even before the COVID restrictions. Whatever your reasons it’s well worth thinking about a smaller group with less overhead. Look for venues with multiple smaller rooms rather than big open spaces and think outside the box. Maybe your favourite pub can host weddings or some church halls can be pretty. Take a look at Tipi’s and Yurts as opposed to marquees or consider a full-on elopement. More to come on those soon!
