Some photographers like to manage very carefully what their clients wear. I’m much more relaxed about it but try to give some ideas just to help you out if you’re worried about it. So, these are my guidelines. This is what I want my couples to know and think about before their shoot.

Well, last Saturday was incredible. Sarah and Chris were married at their family church in Altrincham and then headed to Styal Lodge for a fabulous reception. We had all the weather! One minute we were in a blizzard next it was a gorgeous spring day.

February can be a dreary month but mine was totally brightened by Rebecca and Andy’s Valentine-themed Crewe Hall wedding. Red can be a difficult look to pull off for a wedding but this totally worked with the time of year, the grand venue and the way Becca kept everything else understated. It was my first wedding of 2018 and a fabulous way to start the year.

Sarah and Alex had an amazing wedding weekend at Auchen castle in Scotland. The perfect mix of grand old castle and modern comfort the castle was a perfect venue for this family celebration. With the cutest page boy ever, an owl and long windswept veil this wedding is worth a look.

A fairytale dress combines with rich, opulent colours to create this dark and luxurious styled wedding inspiration. I had so much fun shooting this. Jasmine and Sam besides being gorgeous models are also a couple in real life and were amazing to work with. The more serious looks were harder to get as we all spent so much time giggling. The dress is a one of a kind Elizabeth Todd and belongs to friend of mine. (Thank you, Jude!) It was absolutely perfect for this fairytale look.

Rachel and Adrian were married in a super sweet and simple ceremony at the Old Vicarage Hotel in Worfield near their home in Bridgnorth. It was a beautiful family occasion and as I have photographed the weddings of Rachel’s sister and her best friend Sam it really felt to me like a family reunion.

It’s 2017 roundup time as I wave goodbye to another awesome year filled with some absolutely gorgeous weddings that still surprise me in how unique they all are. My business continues to grow steadily and while sometimes I wish it would grow faster that steady pace allows me to continue to enjoy what I do and still have a life. As my children get older and need less from me I find myself wanting to shoot more and more and I can’t get enough weddings. So bring it on 2018!
