Wedding

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since this fantastic wedding. Grace and Alex were married at St. Luke’s church in Frodsham and then celebrated at Abbeywood Estate. They are an amazing couple who both threw themselves into the wedding planning with enthusiasm and made sure everyone had an amazing time. It was my privilege to join them for some Abbeywood Estate wedding photography.

First I met up with Alex and the boys at their AirB&B. Preparations were well underway with everyone suiting up including matching cufflinks and socks. I then headed over to Grace’s parents’ house where the girls were back from the hairdressers and ready to get dressed. Frodsham flowers did an amazing job of helping with hair flowers as well as delivering the bouquets.

Grace’s family church in Frodsham was the location for the catholic service. I’m not particularly religious but I enjoy a church ceremony especially when there is a family connection with the church. Father Kenny has known Grace since she was small and so it was a uniquely personal service that felt very authentic. After the service, we moved onto Abbeywood to take advantage of the beautiful gardens for photos.

Grace and Alex enjoy a game of tennis so we first headed to the tennis court. Luckily I had some tennis balls in the car so they had a quick game. We declared the game a tie but I think Grace was holding back, to be honest! Throughout the day we were able to take full advantage of the beautiful Abbeywood gardens. There are so many options at this lovely venue. We took some portraits in the woods and used the sweeping lawns for the group shots.

The gardens around the glasshouse are beautiful in the evening light. Alex and Grace cut their cake outside by the pond and then ran through a shower of confetti and bubbles before heading in for their first dance. It was a perfect way to kick off the evening party. It was a wonderful day all round and I’m very happy to have been a part of this gorgeous day. Happy one year anniversary for the 25th Grace and Alex!
