Finally, I feel like its the right time to share this gorgeous wedding! Last December Lou and Luca had the most beautiful, sparkly wedding at the Oaktree of Peover. It was between Christmas and New Year and captured all the glitter and celebration of the season. Somehow when it got to January and the dullness of February it didn’t seem right to go back to Christmas decorations. So I have waited almost a year but now is the perfect time for you to fall in love with this beautiful winter wedding.
I’ve known Lou and Luca for some time now. Louise was Maid of Honour for one of my very first brides, Sarah, so I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding. They are absolutely the sweetest couple and I don’t think either of them has any idea how gorgeous they are. I loved being part of their day, from the tears when Lou’s Dad saw her in her dress, to the beautiful ceremony through to running around in the dark with sparklers. A beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple.
This was the first time I had shot a wedding at the Oaktree. It’s a beautiful venue and I love that it is set in its own huge grounds. It feels very private even though you are not far from Knutsford and the M6. The barns were beautifully decorated for Christmas and with all the exposed beams it really lends itself to becoming a fairy light forest. Lou kept the colours simple and went for lots of white and green with touches of gold and silver for that seasonal sparkle. There was also a few subtle Italian touches with table names, sugared almonds and late night pizza to include a little of Luca’s heritage. The gold confetti cannons were amazing and the sparklers were perfect for the early winter night.
As you can tell, I adore this couple and their circle of friends. It was a real celebration of a wedding and perfect inspiration for anyone planning a wedding next winter. Enjoy x
