February can be a dreary month but mine was totally brightened by Rebecca and Andy’s Valentine-themed Crewe Hall wedding. Red can be a difficult look to pull off for a wedding but this totally worked with the time of year, the grand venue and the way Becca kept everything else understated. It was my first wedding of 2018 and a fabulous way to start the year.
It’s always a pleasure to work at Crewe Hall. Not just because it’s so close to home but also because they have a super slick operation and everything always runs like clockwork. Becca and Andy were married on the 10th February and kept it seasonal with a simple valentine theme. Red can be overpowering but Becca used it as an accent with the bridesmaids matching the groomsmen in navy and saved the red for flowers and ties. The gold chocolate bears with red ribbons were a great idea for favours and I loved the red petal confetti.
One of the things I love about my work is getting to know my couples and seeing their reactions throughout the day. Andy is a smiley, outgoing person while Becca is quiet and more reserved. Opposites attract they say! When I was editing this wedding I thought Becca looked so beautiful in some of those quieter moments as well as with some lovely natural smiles later on. It’s why I love shooting in a documentary style. I love those natural emotions.
Anyway on with pictures! A gorgeous wedding with lovely people. Becca and Andy, I hope you had a fabulous honeymoon and I wish you both a blissful future xx
