Back in November I had the pleasure of second shooting for the lovely Phil Rogers again. This time we were in Anglesey and the wedding took place at St. Mary’s Church in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. I was really hoping I wasn’t going to have to stop and ask for directions 😉 It is of course known as Llanfair P.G. which even I can say, although I remember my Mum (who is Welsh) teaching us to say it as kids! It means ‘Saint Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave’ and this wedding took place at the Saint Mary’s Church, although I didn’t see a white hazel or a rapid whirlpool, but there we are!
Ian and his groomsmen were at the church in plenty of time and in high spirits while they awaited the bride helped along by chocolates supplied by Ian’s mum. Natasha arrived just as it started to rain and was convinced she was about to faint but her Dad did a sterling job of leading her down the aisle. She made it to Ian’s side and they said their vows without a hitch surrounded by their friends and family. I do love a church wedding, its the stained glass windows!
Then it was on to the Bulkeley hotel in Beaumaris for a reception celebration in a fairytale ballroom. The decorations and black and white theme were perfect for a winter wedding. They were a great fun crowd and I’m sure the celebrations carried on long into the night! I’d like to wish them all the best for a very happy life together.
