On the 18th May I had the pleasure of second shooting for the lovely Magdelena Christie. We were covering the wedding of Carol Ann and Paul at the Raddisson Blu Hotel in Athlone. I was thrilled to be able to shoot this wedding in a part of Ireland I had never visited before. The hotel sits right on the banks of the river Shannon opposite St Peter and Paul’s church and the castle, a lovely setting. I was struck by how the weather followed the mood of the day. The morning was calm but overcast and we worried about rain that never came. Our bride and groom were calm and quiet too but definitely a little tense. After the service the sun came out and the celebrations began. Carol Ann and Paul were relaxed and so happy as they messed about and posed for photos. This was a real family affair and I loved that they were obviously so well supported by both their large families. I wish them all the very best for a wonderful life together. These are a few of my favourites from the day.
